SaneLot provides inventory, listing, website, and lead tools for independent vehicle dealers. SaneLot does not sell personal information or use dealer or buyer data for third-party advertising.
Information processed
- Dealer account and team email, role, authentication session, and device-pairing information.
- Vehicle inventory, VINs, pricing, mileage, cost/recon entries, listing text, status, and photos.
- Buyer inquiries sent to a dealer, including contact, financing, trade-in, or vehicle-preference details entered by the buyer.
- If a dealership enables provider-backed calling or texting: inbound call metadata, message content, contact consent and opt-out status, and message delivery status.
- Push-notification tokens when a dealer enables lead alerts and operational security records needed to run and protect the service.
- For the optional SaneLot Auction Pricing Chrome extension: activation or install tokens, a browser install identifier, and vehicle data needed for dealer-requested pricing and title research. The data depends on the installed extension version, as described below. Vehicle data is sent only after the dealer chooses Price or Title + Book for a specific car.
Use and sharing
Information is used to authenticate dealers, publish inventory, operate dealer websites, run requested vehicle checks, route inquiries to the selected dealer, send alerts, and provide support. SaneLot uses service providers such as Apple, Cloudflare, NHTSA, and Stripe to perform those functions. For Auction Pricing version 1.2.1, Price sends the selected VIN and current odometer to SaneLot. SaneLot combines those values with the dealership ZIP already stored in the dealer's SaneLot profile to rank Carvana, CarMax, and AutoNation exits. Price uses zero vehicle report credits. If the dealer separately chooses Title + Book, SaneLot sends the selected VIN to ClearVin, the active vehicle-data provider, to return the contracted Black Book guide value and related title/history context. Title + Book uses one vehicle report credit; reopening that saved report uses no credit. If a dealership enables another supported calling or texting feature, SaneLot may also send the data needed for that requested feature to the applicable provider. SaneLot does not sell buyer leads.
Auction Pricing version 1.0.9 may send the selected vehicle's VIN, a dealer-entered auction ZIP, mileage, and optional color after the dealer presses Price. The ZIP is typed by the dealer; the extension does not read browser location or geolocation.
Auction Pricing version 1.2.1 sends the selected VIN and current odometer to SaneLot only after the dealer chooses Price for that car. It does not ask the browser for or send a ZIP, color, browser location, GPS, or background-location data. SaneLot uses the dealership ZIP already stored in the dealer's account to rank Carvana, CarMax, and AutoNation exits. Price uses zero vehicle report credits. Title + Book is a separate action that sends the selected VIN through SaneLot to ClearVin for the contracted Black Book guide and title/history context and uses one vehicle report credit. Reopening a saved report uses no credit.
Both versions have the same single purpose: show dealer-requested auction-pricing and related vehicle research on supported lot pages. Valuation and title/history results are shown to the dealer in the browser; they are not sold as leads. Access to each supported auction site is optional and requested only when the dealer chooses Allow this site. Version 1.2.1 stores the exact approved auction-site origin locally so the extension can restore and display that permission; it does not store a browsing timeline or unrelated page history. The dealer can remove an approved origin at any time under Settings, then Site access.
SaneLot Auction Pricing's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Extension data is used only to provide or improve the single auction-pricing purpose described to the user; it is not used for advertising, credit decisions, or sale to data brokers.
When dealership staff chooses AI-assisted photo sorting or listing copy, SaneLot sends a resized vehicle photo or the relevant vehicle facts to Cloudflare Workers AI for that requested task. The app identifies this processing before photo selection, and staff can correct or replace the result. Buyer names, contact details, and free-form inquiry messages are not included in AI reply prompts; only the selected vehicle and public dealership facts are used to draft a reply for staff to review and edit.
Payments
Dealer organizations subscribe on the web through Stripe. SaneLot does not receive full payment-card details.
Retention and requests
Records are kept while needed to operate the dealer account, preserve dealer-requested sold-history comps, meet security or legal obligations, or resolve support issues. Request access, correction, export assistance, or deletion at hi@saneapps.com. Some records may be retained when legally required or needed for security and dispute resolution.
Security
SaneLot uses HTTPS, store-scoped access, protected sign-in, and sessions your admin can revoke. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
